Description of Project: Narrative description of Project: Objective of City Governance Project (CGP) is to improve the public services in the target five (5) City Corporations (CC), to strengthen the city governments’ administrative capacity and their governance improvement through ICGIAP, promote living environment and quality of life through IDPCC, to create economic opportunities for CC’s to ensure the progressive revenue and economic growth by providing infrastructures in different sectors in the target City Corporations.
The following brides and culverts construction under this project: i) Construction of road 20 meter span Tribini Bridge & 20 meter span RCC Baparipara Bridge, Narayanganj; ii) Construction of 20 m span Luhia Bridge at Nobigonj Bazar to Dakesshay Mill Road 20 m Span Lakankhola Bridger, Narayanganj; iii) Construction steel Foot Over Bridge over main canal with Beautification, Narayanganj; iv) Reconstruction of 20 m span Bridge at Rececourse Khalpar Cumilla; v) Construction of drain from Ghorapir Mazar to Mondolpara Bridge, Rangpur; vi) Construction of 14m span Bridge in Chattogram City Corporation; vi. Construction of 20 m span Bridge at Gopta Khal, Chattogram City Corporation; vii) Construction of 60m span Bridger on 9 no Khal under Chattogram City Corporation; viii) Construction of 60m span Chaktai P.C Girder Bridge in Chattogram; ix) Construction of 19.26 m span Fishereeghat Bridge at Fishereeghat, Chattogram; x) Construction of 20.34m span Bridge at Jalilgonj, Cattogram; xi. Construction of 17.70 Tackpara Bridge, Chattogram; xii) Construction of 25 m span Bridge over K.D canal at Angur Mir, Rangpur and xiii) Construction of 7 nos Culverts under Cumilla city Corporation. GII assignment involved in prepare detailed plan of operation of the entire GII consultancy service; Assist to implement and manage the progress of Governance Improvement and Capacity Development (Component 1) and Infrastructure Development (Component 2) activities. Among the 2 batches of the infrastructure development, GII team will support Batch 1 and Batch 2 (design and construction supervision) and master plan review and feasibility study; Conduct overall coordination of environmental and social consideration and action, if unexpected negative impact arises; Prepare the inclusive list in different sectors (transport, drainage, water supply, solid waste management, sanitation sewerage and municipal facilities) as well as Investment Plan through master plan and sector review.
Description of actual services provided by DPDS in the assignment:
GII assignment involved in prepare detailed plan of operation of the entire GII consultancy service; Assisted to implement and manage the progress of Governance Improvement and Capacity Development (Component 1) and Infrastructure Development (Component 2) activities. GII team supported Batch 1 and Batch 2 (design and construction supervision) and reviewed master plan and feasibility study; Conducted overall coordination of environmental and social consideration and action, if unexpected negative impact arises; Prepared the inclusive list in different sectors (transport, drainage, water supply, solid waste management, sanitation sewerage and municipal facilities) as well as Investment Plan through master plan and sector review.
